Crispy Oven Fries That Are Actually Crispy

I don’t know about you, but I like a French fry or two. But when it comes to cooking them at home, I prefer to bake them rather than fry.

I have tried several recipes for oven French fries, but they’ve always created limp, mushy potato sticks. Edible, certainly, but not crispy. And the main reason I love French fries is for the crunch.

I kept trying recipes online until I found this one for Easiest Crispy Oven Baked French Fries. I’m happy to say, my fellow French-fry-loving friends, that my quest is over.

They actually came out crispy (hooray!) and I think the reason is because the recipe has a couple of “unconventional” steps. You soak the cut potatoes in cold water for a little bit and then towel them dry. Odd, I know. But I think that’s what prevents them from being soggy and limp.

Place on a wire rack and drizzle with salt and pepper.

I served my fries with turkey burgers that I seasoned with Lipton Onion Soup mix and made on the George Foreman grill.

(I need to work on the shape of the burger patty, though. It looks like a “mama burger.” Old School Eddie Murphy fans know what I mean. Ha!)

But the burger was good. And the fries were deee-lish!
